Potty training how long can a baby (B4 18 weeks) wait B/4 having to be let out to potty? Do you take them with you before they're totally potty trained, or can they stay home a couple hours. Do they catch on after a couple months or how long does it take?? After they're trained, they're leave-able at home..right? I mean, of course not for hours on end, but like for a little while. (like....3-4 hours) Some people say they're trustable 6 hours...???? .......:questione |
You might want to do a search on potty training as there are lots of posts about this subject. I have been taught that you can expect your baby to hold his bladder the number of hours that he is months old. So, if he is two months old, he should be able to hold it two hours. This is up to 6 months or so. Every baby is different. For BMs, you will soon find what time of the day your baby goes, so you can anticipate and plan for it. These little guys have BMs 3-4 times a day on average. My Gracie is nearly 6 months old and can hold both all night for up to 9 hours or so, as long as she does not have diarrhea. Many of us leave our babies in an ex-pen or gated off room with pee pads when we are not home, to prevent accidents. Gracie has gone with me most everywhere since day one. I did not let potty training limit our outings. Its good to take them places so they know it is OK to go someplace other than their own yard. Gracie only had a couple of accidents when we were in the car and that was during her first few car trips at 8 weeks. After that, no problem. |
When Loki was 3 months old he could barely hold it 30 minutes, so it varies for every dog. It wasn't until he was 6-7 months old that we could leave him, in his crate, for 2 hours. By a year we could leave him 4 hours. Now I can leave him 6 but I try to limit it to 4. I crate him when we are not home. For the first year we rotated staying home with him or we took him with. If my husband had long meetings I would This was obviously easier once he was completely housetrained. He loves his car seat and we would take him on errands and one of us would sit in the car with him while the other ran in the stores he was not allowed in. Now we can both go out to eat or whatever and leave him. |
My chelsea is 4.5 months old and she can hold for about 4 hours. When she was 3 months, I had to take her out every hour. Now she will give a sign when she needs to pee or potty. She potty 3-4 times a day (outdoor). She still has accident (once/twice) a week but that because I did not pay close attention to all the sign that she wants to go out. I notice that she can hold it longer if she is not home. |
