Pee Pads I have a 4 month old yorkie. He does pretty well going outside but also goes inside as well. I want him to try and use those pee pads because its starting to get really rainy here and cold and he won't go outside if it's wet/rainy. ANY suggestions. He seems to know they are there but doesn't go on them. I even tried a different brand and he hasnt seemed to change. I even put some of his poop that he made in my house on the pads and still no change?!? I would love it if someone could give me some advise. |
This is one tip from a member: Perhaps put him enclosed in a room and fill it with a layer of pee pad pads all over the room. After he pee pees, smart removing one pee pad at a time. And keep doing that. Though that takes a while... What we did was put pee pee pads in a cat litter box. We dabbed a bit of his pee onto the pad the first time, and after that we would encourage him to go by placing him go to the pee pee pad every hour or so. When he did pee pee on the pad, we praised him a lot and gave him a treat. When he peed somewhere else, we gave him a stern NO! each time. You can also do a search for pee pee pads and you'll find some good threads on the subject. Good luck! |
OK so heres the deal! I caught Tyson going potty on my rugs....its that not weird?!?! He won't go on his pads. I bought a baby playard today and I'm going to see if that will help any. Has anyone ever used that to pee pad train? |
Hi I just started chester on the pads the other day. chester would not use it either. He has been going out side from the day we got him. We could not get him trained on paper at all. Anyway. Just the other day I started it again as winter will be coming soon and also we will be getting a maltese puppy soon. Chester did not know what the pad was for and it had that alfull sent on it and i also had to put the training spray on it bit.. he held it in for over 12 hours. I was in shock. So we ran over to the pet store to get a play pen and moved the pee pad there. Wow as soon as we set it up he went. Wow. give it a try. I also read the information above and that is what helped me. So for three days so far he has been good. I'm hoping next week to test him with the pen open an I will pray he goes in by him self there. |
