invisible fence Has anyone ever used an invisible fence for these little ones? My little guy is so fast tht I am worried he'll get out and run. He's 7 months and 3 lbs., but I'm worried about the weight of the collar. I could get a small cat collar, but it is still heavy and worry about collapsing trachea. Am trying to train him to come, but its hit or miss. Thanks for any input.:) |
For me personally, I'd be afraid of them getting out. |
They are not safe for toy dogs. |
I would never use one. The invisible fence 'might' keep your dog in but it doesn't keep other animals or people out. |
I know someone who uses it on their "large" dogs, but I don't know anyone who uses it on toy dogs. Her large dogs are "german shepard" size. She doesn't have any small, or toy dogs. |
I would never leave the puppy unattended anyway, but my min schnauzer uses one. She is never out alone either. Max is my second Yorkie and I found my other one would always obey commands inside, but outside he became a wild man and would ignore our commands. It looks like Max is following in his footsteps. So afraid of not being able to control him or catch him..I'm not as fast as I used to be. |
My friend lookeed into this for her small dog, and was told that the shock they get could kill them... her dog weighs about 15 pounds...i would be afraid to try this on such a small dog. |
I have a GSD and I wouldn't use it on him because the people behind us in the s/d have a mix shepherd and chow and they are always getting out of it...I looked into it, cause we have alot of land and I wanted to maybe fence in 3 to 4 acres for Max and maybe the others to run, but they told me it wasn't good for toy breeds and too like someone else said I would be afraid of other animals getting them....:) |
