Blanket and Jewelry Chewing I cannot seem to keep my little girl from chewing on my watch, wedding ring, anklet, and bracelet. She also starts chewing on blankets. I feel like I have to spray EVERYTHING with bitter apple. Aargh:( |
maybe get her some chewing teething toys? |
Mine does the same thing. DrIvEs Me BoNkErS :tongue036 She has plenty of chew toy that she chews on also. |
Morgan likes to chew on towels. I think its because she is teething and the cloth is just thick enough to much on without tearing and breaking into pieces. |
Can I join the club? lol my pup does the same she rips up paper and scatters it all over the place! |
Sophie has a Kong and a Chew Bone, but nothing seems to taste better than my jewelry. My husband hates it when she chews on my wedding ring LOL |
My cat used to do the same thing! |
join the crowd. we have all been through it...isnt it fun????? |
Have you tried Bully Sticks? They were a miracle worker for my chewer! Before discovering them, I actually sprayed my HANDS with Bitter Apple once to make him stop biting them! |
Make sure you provide lots of chew toys. I was having a problem with Jake wanting to chew on my hands and fingers, and he was biting pretty hard sometimes, so I tried something that I read in a book and it worked. When he would start biting, I would yelp the same way a dog does when they get hurt, and I would tell him firmly, without yelling, "no". Then, I would put him down and turn my back on him and ignore him for about 30 seconds. After that, I would pick him up and hand him a chew toy at the same time. He would start chewing on it, and I'd give him lots of praise. I had to do this three times, and then he got it. I would increase the time that I ignored him each time. It worked great! |
