Found a compromise Okay...I know there are many of us who are having issues with crate training. :D I tried moving silk back into my bedroom. She came from a breeder and is used to being around other dogs all the time. Anyways I got one of the plastic crates instead of the metal wire one. The metal wire one made lost of noise when she moved around. Plastic is much quieter. Anyways I fell asleep and she slept in my bed until around 1am right next to me. When she started to move around I put her in her plastic crate right by my bed. I was able to sleep until 6am with no whinning. I did wake up because I could hear her move a couple of times but aleast she did not cry and bark and whine. :) |
That is great! Maybe she just needed to be near you:) Good decision and so glad you got some sleep! |
I read that putting a piece of clothing or a pillow case in the crate with your scent on it also helps. I did this I put my pillow case in and my little guy curls up with it!! :D Good Luck!! |
Diesel doesn't sleep in his crate often. He prefers to sleep in his bed. However for those times when he does have to be crated, he has a little blanket that he loves. You should try something with your sent that will help your baby relax and feel comfortable and safe. :) Reagan :) |
I bought a reallly nice soft fleece blankie at walmart. I guess it would be considered a throw cause it is barely big enough to cover me from feet to throat and I am only 5 foot 2. But anyway, I would sit on the couch with it with Memphis in my lap and then when bed time came I would put him in his crate with it. This worked really well. Now the little butthead doesn't sleep in his crate anymore. He sleeps right between the pillows on my bed. But he will drag that damn blanket around everywhere with him. |
