puppy crying....when housetraining... we've had yoshi for about 1 and a half weeks....and he finally has gotten used to us and the house...but he won't pee or poop on the puppy pads...he just tears um up...so finally i decided to make him a room covered in puppy pads so he can pee and poo there....to try and train him that way...he wasn't crying last night...but we decided that if he did good and pee'd or pooped on the puppy pads that he could come out and run around for a half hour...so this morning my hubby let him out....and after i got up and my husband left...the puppy pooped on the floor...so i put him back in the p-room...and now he's crying! i feel so bad...did we let him out to run around to soon...? I need help with this!! |
You had no way of knowing that he needed to go a second time. Sometimes Gracie does this. He is young. Be patient. When Gracie goes where she is not supposed to, all priviledges as far as running around in the house go are revoked. Back in her ex-pen she goes until she pees. Then she can come out and play. She cries too. I just ignore her and she shuts up. |
same thing going on... i feel like we're only going backwards with yoshi...we created that room with the puppy pads...he doesn't cry as much...but he won't poop and pee in ther...sometimes he pees...but when ever we let him out in the morning...he finds a spot to poop...my husband is really hard on him...and im the real patient one...i just feel so lost. i keep telling my husband that he doesn't know why your yelling at him...thats why he keeps doing the same stuff, but my husband doesn;t listen...eh, still dunno what to do. |
I feel you pain! I just got another yorkie baby...she was semi trained when I brought her home...I use the pee pads as well however, I use the cloth ones, you can buy these in a pharmacy or if you know someone that works in a hospital they could get one for you..This is what Lillie is used to going on.If I use the paper ones she plays with them! she will tear at them and pull them around the room. I also have Sadie, who is 2 1/2 yrs old...she STILL isn't totally house trained...yorkies are not known to be easy to train for potting... Good Luck! |
I am pretty sure they have something out there that holds the pads down so they won't tear them or move them. I know I've seen it in another thread. I don't need them because mine don't do that. They are already 100% pee pad trained BUT it took alot of work and patience to get where I am at today. He is still young but eventually he will learn. Please tell hubby not to yell at him...thats only going to make him afraid. |

When mine were young and wanted to shred them, we used the clear packing tape and taped them to the linoleum floor. It wasn't as easy to play with so they stopped. When they stopped trying, we stopped taping. |
Hi, I'm not an expert on pad training. But I do use holders to hold the pads. You can check Petsmart's website; they have 2 kinds. Here's the link: http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...pad+holder&N=2 http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...pad+holder&N=2 If your puppy's not too big (not too powerful), you can use the first one to hold the 4 corners of the pad. I use that cuz it's easier to move around when you need to. Hope it helps :) |
