chewing and bones Have any of you ever noticed your pups get tired of bones or treats after a couple of times? I bought the greenies and after one or two she didn't want them anymore. She liked milk bone biscuits the first time and then doesn't want them again. I buy bones and stuff them with peanut butter and after a day she doesn't want them anymore. I keep trying new things but she seems to lose interest right away. I bought the Kong and it lasted a day then lost its effect. Is this typical for the breed? She is a real chewer and biter and I am always hoping to divert her. |
Tia is the same way, but Sandy always likes the same thing. I have to rotate treats like the kong, greenies, etc for Tia so she doesn't lose interest. |
I find I have to rotate things with my girls. I discovered frozen baby carrots the other day (just stick fresh in the freezer) - they were a big hit! For the kongs, I rotate what I fill them with. |
Chachi's like this too. He loses interest in the greenies real fast. I just keep alterating what I give him. |
What of this Kong thing? Ok folks. I did it. I bought the Kong. I also bought some Chicken-flavored Iam's sauce to flavor steamed rice. Have mixed Bodhi's kibble in with the rice and stuffed the Kong. (Rice, Natural Balance sausage, kibble & Pupcorn are the only foods I want him on right now.) The problem is when Bodhi is unable to reach the food inside. I have to drop it on the floor a few times to knock the food towards the large hole. I really don't get it. If I left this for his amusement while I was out, I think that he would get frustrated and bark at it. What consistency or ratio of dry/paste are you all using? Thanks for help and suggestions! |
Gucci is like that also. Sometimes she gets tired of the same thing, so i have to change her treats. She never like it the kong. I guess she was too lazy to try to get the treat from it. |
