My puppy potty training has just regressed I got Gia last Friday 7-14 and her potty training was coming along very well (we're training her on wee wee pads) Well, anyway I had to end up taking her to the vet because she was constipated they ended up giving her an enema. Well ever since she came back from the vet (which was yesterday) she has been peeing and pooping all over the floor And it's not that she is still sick because she sniffs around the house then decides where to wants to go. I have now put her in the bottom of the closet with wee wee pads and I have the baby gate up so she can't get out. She has enough room to walk around & stuff. I feel bad because she is crying but I don't know what to do. Hopefully this will teach her where to go. I also brought that potty training spray that your supposed to spray on the wee wee pads. if anybody has a better suggestion can you let me know. |
Is it possible to just block off the kitchen so she can be where you are? Or perhaps put her on a leash and attach it to you? It is really hard in the beginning until you get a pattern established. But you need to realize this is something that will take a long time. she won't be trained in just a week or two. Some not until they are a year or better. My two are 7 months and 5 months, and although they are good with the pee pads in the kitchen, I still don't trust them in the rest of the house. We are slowly working on the living room now. Just because they are trained in one room does not mean they are trained in the rest of the house. Be patient and Good Luck |

She's not spending her time in there thinking "this is where I should potty". I expect she's thinking "What's wrong with Mom? Why am I in here?" I think 2 things are going on here. One, I expect she does still have tummy cramps and things just aren't quite right. Second, you've had her a VERY short time. She hasn't had time for toilet training to be well-learned. At this point, any interruption in routine will set you back. I'd just go back to how you were training her - keeping an eagle eye on her at all times, rewarding her for getting it right, wisking her off to the appropriate spot when she gets it wrong. Good luck! |
