I've pretty well given up trying to housebreak Higgins at ten months old. He goes outside about 80% of the time and inside the rest of the time. Sometimes on the pee pad, sometimes not. We are hoping that life in our little camper will inspire him to go outside, although this summer he felt free to poop inside the Casita. It is so much fun to get up at night and step on a poop with your bare feet :mad: Now I grab my flashlight and shine it on the floor before getting out of bed at night! Yorkie's are so SMART, but they sure are stubborn about potty training! Higgins is a Running Pooper, too! They must just think it's not a very important issue in life........ :(

If we do the math, you are paying approximately .28 cents per pee pad.
I am paying .14 cents per pee pad.

If our Yorkies live to approximately 12 years, using two pee pads per day, you will have spent $2,452.80 on pee pads. I will have spent half of that.

Tomorrow, I want you to call 800-228-7150. Ask for a box of 300 underpad durasorb, 17 1/2 by 24 inches!!

No wonder people refer to Toto as "the million dollar Yorkie"!! :) I had Toto with me when I dropped by our accountant's office last week and he looked at her and said "THAT"S Toto"???? He wondered what my new "line item" on the books could be and was just expecting something larger! :p He laughed and yelled "Joan, come here quick ... there's a rat in my office"!!! He was kidding, of course, thought she was adorable but said he couldn't claim her as a legitimate deduction for taxes!! DARN!! :confused: I will check on the underpads you suggested .... thanks again!! ;)

Pee-pads only work when I put them in the crate. If I put them on the floor Pippin just tears them up lol!

He is now two years old. I gave up the first month we got him... He would have noting to do with it, since he was trainded to go outside with the breader. The only thing is here in toronot it gets so cold in winter and we get a lot of snow in our small yard. Last year I let chester out and did not realize the snow had frozen over. Oh boy!! chester when down the back stairs and then I saw him slide all the way to the back fence. I had to use my umbrella to hold my self up to go and get him. He just kept sliding back down.

Anyway I tried training him again just a few weeks ago and it worked for a while. Chelsey our amaltese has been using it a lot . Chester went a couple of times on the wee wee pad, he perfers to hold it in until we let him outside and boy can he hold it. We just ordered Wizdog www.Wizdog.com. it's supose to hold the wee pad or paper in place . chelsey keeps riping it up. I got it this moringing and i hope it works.

p.s We also orders some Wee wee pads online and it was not cheep. I think I will also give that number a call when we run out. Thanks

I'm screwed. Otis religiously uses pee pads. He doesn't know how to pee on the grass or a fire hydrant or anything else. We can go for a two-hour walk, and he will wait until I lay a pee pad out to pee.

That's what happens when you're such an awesome trainer, Junebug. So do you always carry a pee pad around with you when you go places with Otis? Will he just pee when you lay it down?

Junebug! It's amazing ... the similarities between Otis and Toto's training!! :) Toto doesn't know that she can go outside either! She always waits for the pad ... and yes, I always have one with me when we go to visit! Just have to show her where it is and she goes there! It's really convenient for us too! ;)

Tish also does not know what it is like to pee outside. I do not use pads though. She will only pee on news paper. I will put her outside on the deck and she will hold it till I bring her in, then she runs to the newspaper. I have a few pads here but she would rather go on the paper.

Well now, I'll tell ya.......there are days when I sure would like to pee on the news, too! ;)

Hey everyone-
First off, sorry I havent been posting, but had a family emergency....Ok, I feel much better hearing everyone elses stories about their babies. Well, I cant seem to understand Dolce. She is 11 wks old on Friday and has been using the wee wee pads about 95% of the time since we brought her home (at 8 wks). The past week though, she has been either missing the pad and peeing just on the edge of it or this morning me and my mother noticed that she was peeing in some corner area of the living room, where she NEVER has gone before. I dont understand it. I cant comprehend how they are 2 centimeters from the pad and miss it?? However, she NEVER has an accident when it comes to "number 2", it is always on the pad. I got so frustrated this morning when I found her "secret spot", but my mother told me that she is only 11 wks old and I cant expect her to be totally trained. She spoiled me the first few weeks i guess...but do you guys think I have to start over with the training on the pads because she has almost completely stopped going ON the pad and now its either in the vicinity or not at all?? HELP!!! I value ALL of your opinions. Thanks!!!

Dolce's Mom ... you mentioned a family emergency [hope everything is OK]. So ... has Dolce seemed upset? Toto is 15 months old now and if her little world is altered in any way, she will go pee on the floor and do lots of things which are uncharacteristic for her!! She will be perfectly behaved ... always go on her wee wee pads, then if her routine is interrupted, she is almost like a child acting out!! :eek: So, don't give up on little Dolce ... just watch her and see if maybe she is uncomfortable about something? ;)

Missy goes outside wish she would use pee pad in winter. Bobo goes to pad then will come to us for his treat. i really think he'd do anything for a treat. i have a friend that puts those boots for dogs on her dog and its coat.
