Peeing problem! My Yorkie is almost 3 years old and is peeing all over the house! He is trained to go on a pee pad but continues to pee on the carpet when we are gone and even when we are home. We tried kenneling him when we are gone but he is terrified of the kennel. He even lets out a terrible smelly odor when he has to go in there. We tried blocking him off in a room but he can jump the baby gates. We are at our wits end with the peeing problem! We have a baby who is now crawling on the pee filled carpet so we need to put this to a stop now! Any other suggestions? |
Is he neutered? If not hes probably marking. I would put a bellyband on him |
I agree. I would neuter him and put a belly band on him. Are you punishing him when you see him going potty in the house? Potty training takes time and consistency. You have to be VERY consistent. |
He is neutered and we have only actually caught him in the act of peeing somewhere twice. He was scolded and then we took him to where he was supposed to have went. What is a belly band? |

just curious, did this just recently start? maybe he has a UTI? |
Is this New If this is new and not the norm I would get him checked for a bladder infection. Remmy was trained and in Jan started peeing everywhere and he had stones. If he has been doing this the whole three years then I would agree with the suggestions of using a belly band. |
Have you tried double stacking the baby gates? I did that with my kittens until they figured out how to climb the darn things! |
