Advice on Puppy biting My Buster is 12 weeks old. And he attack bites. He bites hard and growles too. I need advice on what to do. He does this to everyone. please help! |
When he starts biting, tell him NO really sternly and give him something that he is allowed to chew on. When he is biting you, you can also hold his mouth shut and make him bite his tonge and tell him NO. Then give him something that he is allowed to chew on. He will eventually grow out of it. |
when your playing with him and he starts to get too rough, just stop. drop what you are doing and turn away from him. then when he calms down go back to playing. if he starts biting again, turn away and stop playing. wait then go back. if is still does it get up and walk away. he'll learn that when he's too bitey, he doesn't get to play with momma. |
My vet advised us to get Sammy into puppy classes (training). Our groomer at the time was a trainer and she helped me with Sammy and his biting and growling. Within one week he was a completely different dog. It was the best training I ever had :) and Sammy too. |
I was told by my vet one thing NOT to do is this. Aloth of people like to play tug of war with their pup and a toy that can contrubute to the biting. |
When Tig man was that young we would tell him NO BITE!!! we wouldn't raise our voices we would just hold his muzzle gently and say no bite and replace our hand or whatever he was biting with a toy. He's the most well behaved pup now. |
