Trailing poop Our (Mine and DJ30) dog Angel seems to have a weird way of pooping. She will initially go in one spot and then kind of inch over or move/drag over to another spot all the while squatting and doing her business.  Which leaves a trail or bits of poop. Do others have this problem? Is this normal? How can we curb this "action"? Thanks |
Tucker does that when he has trouble going. He has been put on lactulose by the vet and it seems to help |
dont worry, lexi does the same thing sometimes..if it dont all come out on one shot, its in a few different places... i personally think she doesnt want to step in it as shes doing it. or is afraid of it... happens all the time |
Tressie does it too. I keep picking her up and taking her back to her pad. I have to praise her for starting on the pad tho. what helped alot was to have their pad in another crate close to the door, which was working out fine. but then I thought that was not such a good idea for the fact that it was teaching them it was ok to potty in their crate. I took that crate and put it away. I have to admitt ....I really think pee pad training is harder (for me) than going out side. I had no problem at all with the other 2 training to go out side. so now I know I am the problem. If they can get me trained they got it made! |
My mini poo does that. Walks it out. Sometimes she walks over the whole back yard. She doesn't stop and poop tho she keeps walking while pooping. |
I have a potty area in my living room behind a screen and another pad in my bedroom which is where I leave them during the day. Every morning Simon will start on the pad in the living room then run into the bedroom and finish there. I have no idea why but he has always done this. |
Penny does something like this when her hair is getting too long around her rear. She'll poop, and then walk a few steps and finish. Does your baby need a sanitary grooming? |
Otis does this too when he has some "clingers"... sometimes he walks up to me as he is squating and looks at me for help.....poor guy.... |
my mom's yorkie ,remy, does this all the time. she actually goes in circles. we don't mind except when she does it on the carpet. lol..:p |
Dezi does the same thing. One poop on the pad, the other on the floor.:animal-pa |
Baby does this too. It's when they're scooting their butt on the ground, then that's a problem. They need they're glads expressed. Baby pees and walks at the same time too! :D |
Our girl is a squatter for both #1 and #2. I've never seen her drag her butt on the ground, which is a good thing. |

I think it's just the way she is. Although I wish it wasn't :p |

Yep, include Rocco in the trailing poop list.Sometimes he will take off runnning when he isn't done with his business. |
with regards to the trailing, my baby did this last night. When she came in (daughter took her out) it was stuck to her hiney. My question is, being 8 weeks old, is it possible for her too many baths? |

My Lilly too. She poops/pees and walks at the same time. I always wondered about this. It is funny to watch, like she is running from it! |

it happened to me! When I read this thread I was thinking "gosh, I'm soo glad Lexy doesn't do that!" THEN, today...I guess she somehow ingested some of my HAIR...and she couldn't get it all out (because the hair strand was stuck inside her) and she TRAILED poo from one side of my living room to the other! Good thing I have hardwood floors but it was soo yucky to clean up. |
