Bang Bang you are dead! I have two yorkies and Benni always learns tricks really fast and once learned never forgets. At a year, he and Garrett come when called, sit, lay down and gives you five. But Benni also jumps up and give you a high sign with both paws and rolls over and dances. This weekend we learned a new one. I say "bang bang, you are dead' while using my finger as a gun and he falls over on his back and stays still. It is hilarious! He just crumbles when I say bang bang. He is so smart, Garret is still a little slower on the uptake then Ben but another couple of weeks and I should have Gar doing it also. |
Congats! Yorkies are so incredibly smart! I'm often WOW-ed by our 8mo. old yorkie, Sully, who can come when called, sit, stay, shake, lay down, roll over, play dead, beg, dance, spin around in circles on command, walk on his back legs and take a bow. I haven't even ever had a dog before, let alone taught him tricks, and I taught all these tricks to Sully on my own. I've got some great online tips for teaching dog's tricks that I found via google....let me konw if you'd like to see it. |
You both inspire me to stay on track with our training. I really want them to learn the safety commands and then some fun ones too! Thanks for posting. |
Passionfruition- I would like to see it. I think you posted it before and then all of a sudden I couldn't get into it. If its the same one there were some great trick ideas on it. |
toby runs and hides when i say bang bang :( |
Lucy growls and jumps up to try to bite the 'gun'!! Strange, usually she is such a wimp!!! |

Here is the link to Sully's trick-videos thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...5065#post35065 But also, I found this dog-training site to be very helpful! |
Wow that was fast! :D I'm new to the list, I just put down a deposit on a female yesterday. and I'm so excited. Her name is going to be JADA hence my SN :D she's currently 5 weeks old, so I should be recieving her in about a month, but I'm already reading up on how to house train, crate train, ect... I know she's going to be little and its going to take a lot of patience but I guess the earlier I start the better I'm off, plus I want to get myself in the habit. then I have to train my girlfriends dog-(but I think we're going to put him through obiedience school) he's (EJ) 1 yr 7mths and has a lot of bad habits and I don't want that to happen w/ Jada ok I'll stop rambling  Bill |
Welcome Bill and baby Jada!! How fun! You have so much to look forward to. Tell us about Jada. Where did you find her, can you tell anything about her personality yet? Is she the smallest of the biggest of the litter. etc.? |

Sully's tricks http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...5065#post35065 There is the link to the thread about Sully's videos. |
I can't believe how smart these little ones are. Bella is 13 weeks and knows "Come Bella" and this week we taught her to go get her ball and "Bring it to mama". She starts puppy class in 1 1/2 wks and hoping they will teach her sit, stay, lay because she won't listen to me on those. The BANG BANG YOUR DEAD one is so cute, I can't wait to try that one with her |
5 Attachment(s) Here are some pictures of "Jada" (I'm still thinking about the name but for now its Jada) any recommendations? the First three pictures are of Jada she's the smallest of the group. The litter consisted of 2males and 4 females the 4th picture is of the second smallest and the last is of the other 2 sisters. I found her at www.yorkies-r-us.com I was reffered to them by a friend of mine who has a male(Hercules) and Jada is Hercules's cousin. I was looking for a female so my girlfriends male (EJ) can have a companion and I didn't want to start searching at the local petshops so I opted to purchase from that site since my friend has a positive releationship w/ that breeder. I hope you all like the pictures. :D :D :D :D |
