Is he eating enough My Jack is almost 6 months old, he likes to eat a whole can of Ceasar around 7-8 in the morning, and another about 6-7 in the evening, but during the day he doesn't seem to have any appetite. I keep a little kibble out just in case, but he rarely touches it. Is this normal? All the other puppies I have ever had were chow hounds. This is the first Yorkie I have had. |
It all depends - is he overweight at all? Does the vet say he is healthy? The thing you want to watch out for when not feeding any dry kibble is tooth and mouth problems. The kibble helps to scratch tartar off the teeth. |
Eating enough Jack is not overweight, and the vet says he is very healthy. I mix the kibbles into the soft food once a day, and he gets milk bones and other hard treats when he does good with the potty etc. I guess I am overreacting as a new Mum. He is lively, and keep us laughing. I'm happy to have found this website. it will really help. :) |
Then I'd say he's doing great (I'm by no means an expert though!) :) I know how the new mommy jitters are. I've had dogs all my life and I worry about everything with my puppy, Tia. It's okay - it just means we care :D |
