Mans Best Friend Well yesterday we dropped Cordelia of at Mans Best Friend for two weeks. They keep them there because they said dogs learn from repetition. I have been trying to train her since I brought her home. She would go on her pee pads while she was in her pen, but if we let her out she would just go everywhere but her pee pad. Plus another reason we decided to send her there is because they teach a full obedience course. I did a lot of research before deciding on this place, and everyone gives them good praise. I wish I could have had more patience and time to train Cordelia, but I work a full time job, and my fiancé is out of town every week. Here is their website. http://www.dallasmansbf.com/I will let you know what the outcome is in 2 weeks. |
I know you must miss her already! :( |
Oh wow, I've never heard of that. Neat! I know you're going to miss her terribly....I'd go nuts if I had to leave Sully for 2 weeks, omg! All this training will be REALLY good for her, though. You'll be the proudest mommy there is! |
How interesting. I'm thinking of looking into either that or a private trainer to come help me with Tia, as apparently I SUCK at potty training. Let me know how it goes. |

If you dont mind my asking how much do they charge for the two week training program? |
Well we did the full obedience training which after the two weeks is up, we will bring her in to be trained off the leash and with distractions. With the full package she will have lifetime unlimited lessons. It's hard to explain the difference between the obedience training. Just the basic obedience training is $995.00 the full is $1200. |
Here is their main website link http://www.mansbf.com/ it is different than the one above. |
Well yesterday we picked Cordelia up from MBF and she was so excited to see me she peed on me. She did well with most of the commands. I think she was really tired because she just slept all day after we brought her home. She has learned to go outside for potty, but she did have a few accidents since we have brought her home. She is now on a feeding schedule that will revolve around my work hours. I will feed her in the morning for 15 minutes and again in the evening for 15 minutes. I feel that’s not enough eating time, but the trainer told me that if it’s not possible for me to come home everyday for lunch then don't do it at all. We still have about 8 more sessions that we will be going to once a week. Over all she has done good, I just think my expectations were a little high. The trainer did say that yorkies are hard to train. |
