Help! My Kiwi is eating her pee pad! I'm not sure why this is suddenly happening, but my little nine week old has started eating her pee pad. We have been placing the pad in a holder so she wont be able to nip at the edges and move it around. But nevertheless, she has decided to bite at it and swallow the padding. We tried spraying it with bitter apple but this way she won't go there at all. As I am writing this, she just had her last meal of the day and vomited right after  . Does anyone think this is due to the pee pad eating (i don't think she ate much because i stopped her right away). I am hoping that someone has some suggestions for me. |
Have you thought of litter box training her? |
I was told by the breeder that the puppies spend more time playing in the litter box rather than doing their business. So i figured pee pads are the cleanest way to go. I was not expecting them to be concidered a gourmet meal! As far as the toilet training goes, she isn't too bad for her nine weeks of age. i would have to say that 50 % of the time if not more, she uses the pad. If only she didn't eat it . . . |
CAREFUL!!!!!!............ one thing about the pee pads is that if they are eaten they can be fatal.... the highly absorbant inner part clogs up their intestine!!!!!!!! |
