treadmills? I have trained Chattie and Peppy to walk on my treadmill. They absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE to go for our "walks". I am curious -- does anyone else walk with their yorkies on a treadmill? I will climb on and start it up at around 1 mph and Peppy will jump on and then here comes Chattie. It took a little effort to begin with, but within 3 days Peppy was jumping on the treadmill asking for me to turn it on!:dogsm2: |
Sully does the treadmill Val (PassionFruition) posted a cute video of Sully exercising on a treadmill. He has a very cute work-out suit too. |
hahahahahaha, i put my boys on it once... and as soon as it made a funky noise they were gone like little rockets. it was quite hilarious, and my 2 are lazy chubbos so i doubt they'll go for any form of exercise! |
i tried to put lexi on mine, turned around, next thing you know, she was gone...on the floor upside down,,, i guess i had it to fast huh? she didnt know what hit her.. |
Wow! That is great! I wish I could get Mojo on my treadmill......does anyone of any tips??? My treadmill seems awfully loud too though, that could be the problem, but I would live some tips and tricks on training him to walk w/ me! |
i dont own one but if i did i would deff put my boys on one ! |

I have tried using the treadmill with Gracie but she just sits there trying to dig her nails into the belt. She won't try to walk. I have started it at 1/2 mph, as slow as it goes. Any suggestions? |
how cute i dont own a treadmill dont think gracie would be to fond of it either |
I actually LOVE my treadmill! I kind of loose track of time when I am on it and it is relaxing to me.........well, it is pretty much the only "me" time I get anymore. Right now, it is folded up because we had to do some rearranging for our holiday decorations and tree, etc. I can't wait until it gets put back up! I have one of those that can fold almost flat and rolled away somewhere, so it is good for when I need to move it around --- course, I leave it out all the time though (except for now and I am in desperate need of it)!!! Mojo will lay on the couch or bed (whichever room I have it in at the time) and watch me - he doesn't like it much because that dang thing is LOUD! --- I think it is about to quit on me because I think it is much louder now then it ever was!!!! YIKES! |
I'm SO glad you started this post cause I was just signing on to ask the same question. My Cooper is 6 months and a bundle of PURE ENERGY!!! Since its so cold here I was thinking of trying him on the treadmill and now since I've read the posts I'm definately gonna give it a try. I just dont know what else to do with him in the puppy stage....hoping with more exercise he will lay off the biting/scratching etc a little.....hubby is getting a little fed up and so is the wall in his room. Time to go back to crating a little more I guess....any other suggestions? :) |
My husband loves to put Scout on the treadmill at my parents house. She's up to 5.5 mph now! :p She really enjoys it since she knows she gets a treat after. It's a great way to burn off some of that puppy energy. |
WHAT THE! How do you guys get them to walk on the treadmill?? I heard about this once and I tried w/ Stanley, but he ran off of there as soon as my hands were off of him! |
If I had a treadmill, it'd be pretty funny to see my two girls on there with me:laugh: Of course, I can barely walk on one without tripping over my own feet, so they'd have to use it without me:o Maybe those that want to try that with their pups can use the leash at first, until they have the hang of it? |
