Peeing on the ground I am so proud of Sophie she has started peeing on the ground. :cheer: I have tried to get her to in the past but she never would. She had to go really bad yesterday and she finally went. I made a huge deal over it and she was very proud of herself. So today I took her out every time she needed to go and she did it. She is so happy when she does she wants to come straight in and get made over by my husband. I haven't made up my mind if we are going to go to ground only or still use pee pads on the porch which is what we had been doing. I just dread taking her out in the rain, snow, and dark. What do you all think? Will she get confused? |
I HATE PEEPEE PADS !! i never used them for brownie or kayko i got austin i thought it would be a good idea to have him do both (outside & in) all it did was put him behind he didnt like the pads and he missed half the time and when i gave up went to just outside he kept trying to go where the pad us to be i think there a waste of money unless your dog is super small i would stick to just outside on the ground |
Good Jop Sophie :congrats: Ollie seems to be OK with either the pads or outside. When I take her out she squats immediately, although she may still have to go a few more times once we come back in. She is hitting the pads 95% of the time now. She actually goes running for them. |
Congrats Sophie, you are such a good girl. Good job. We use the pee pads and it work for us. |
I just started housebreaking my puppies yesterday! They were pad trained as it was to cold for them to go outside. They have not had any accidents so far, since I know how often they need to go from using the pads it makes it really easy because I know how often to take them out. I am eliminating the use of pads until winter, the snow here gets so deep that my cocker can be in snow deeper than herself, so I could not take them outside to go to the bathroom even if I wanted. I wish I lived somewhere warmer where I could take them out all year round. I believe that in the winter if you can still take them outside perhaps on a covered porch and you can use a pad without confusing them. The concept is for them to go to the bathroom outside, either on the ground during warm weather, or on a pad during cold weather. As long as they learn they are not to go to the bathroom in the house, that they must go outside, everything should work out. :animal-pa |
