LOVES to BITE my baby is a biting machine... she loves to bit anything and everything from fingers to pants to shirts she loves everything. I can't get her to stop this bag habit tho. Does anyone have any suggestions? If i want to pet her she things that i'm trying to play and wants to bite, i've taught her to sit and give paw, she's does it perfect, but now i'm thinking that the only reason she understands paw is cuz she associates it with someones hand close to her mouth witch means bite. She's starting to bite harder and i want to to stop. Anyone have any suggestions PLEASE :D Oh ya she's 3 months old. |
i point the finger at lexi and say NO BITING, NO BITING, she really doesnt bite anymore.. i do it in a stern voice... |
I've tried that but when she sees my finger close she things i'm playing with her and putting it there so that she can bite... everything to her is just a fun game, one example is that she eats shoes she loves laces and she goes to the front door very quietly and starts eating then... then as i come up to her and tell her no she runs away and wants me to chase her.. she's really funny but i just want the biting fingers to stop, because her teeth are getting sharper |
LOL, I have TWO mouthy ones!! Wosie is 8 months and Dreama 4 years, and they BOTH still mouth your hands! They are good about it, and don't do it to hurt. It's a playing thing for both of them that I only occasionally feel is obnoxious. But we are always saying "No Bite" especially to Wosie, and I am sure she thinks it is her real name. But as soon as you say it, she stops. She just can't help it. It's like her way to show affection. :p |
try to say no biting in a loud loud voice to kind of scare her..she what happens... maybe give her something to bite on, like a bully stick... |
Try saying OUCH really loudly and then turning away from her and ignoring her for a minute or two..hope that helps! |
BevPeter -- You little dog is going throught the "biting/teething stage." And - no matter what anyone says - it's hard to stop. I'd work hard to keep from being bitten - it hurts!!!! But, I don't think it's really anything to worry about. (There is light at the end of the tunnel!) My little dog is 7 months old now - and bites only a fraction of what he did a few months ago. All puppies are biting machines at 3 months. It's the nature of the beast. As Carol Jean said, it will lessen in time anyway, but there are things you can do to hurry that time along. Everytime pup goes for your fingers (or anything else inappropriate), I'd offer him an alternative to chew on. Over and over and over again. Have chew toys readily available in all rooms. If pup hurts you, squeal "OUCH", immediately break eye contact, stand up and turn your back for 30 seconds to a minute. Any longer and pup won't have any idea why you're ignoring her. After that time, all is forgiven. Repeat as needed. She's a smart puppy. She'll figure it out soon! |
Stormy used to bite like that when he was a youngster. I broke him of it by saying loudly and firmly, "NO BITE" when he did it. |
I have the same problem with Dezi. She bites all the time and she is about to be four months so her teeth are really sharp and it HURTS! I keep saying no, she stops and looks at me and starts again. I turn around and Ignore, she then bites my toes. I put toys in her mouth and she bites the toy and my finger. I hope this stage goes by quickly. My hands look like I had a fight with a cat.
