I'm so excited I'm going to pee!!! So we are getting this house-breaking thing down pretty good. Bella has maybe one accident a day -and that's usually when I'm gone and the sig other is watching her ;) The prob is this: When we all have to leave together (this usually only happens on the weekends because of opposite work schedules during the week) Bella is crated while we are gone. When we get home (we are usually gone for 2-3 hrs tops) Bella is so excited when she sees us, she goes spastic in her crate and ends up peeing a little. I don't scold her or anything and take her outside right away. She usually pees again outside and then we come back in. Will this always happen when we leave her for a little while? Or as she gains more control of her bladder she'll stop having these excitement pees??? |
Suz' Ginger used to get excited and pee on people's feet, or anywhere, either when anyone first came home, or if someone would see her and talk baby talk to her. She grew out of it as she got older. (I think it is a puppy thing, they really don't have much control.) |
Penny used to do that. Now that she is 9 months old she can hold her bladder better and no more excited peeing. I think when they get older they have more control. Just give Bella some time. :) :) :) |
I am pretty sure they grow out of this my friend had the same prob with erh puppy and he is fine now |
I've heard that they grow out of it. I hope so, Tucker has been doing this for months! My poor sister gets peed on every time she comes over. |
but my dog shes 2yrs old, she still pees when shes excited. why? |
Reggie is 3 months old and I've noticed that even though he's happy to see me, I don't talk in a loud, excited, high pitched voice and he doesn't pee with me. However, when my mother-in-law or sister-in-law see him, they immediately start with the high pitched voice and he pees on them every time. Your dog may be reacting to you the way you react to him. Try being calm when you first see him until you get him outside and then get all excited. Not sure if this will work... just making a suggestion based on what I've noticed with my furbaby. |
I have the same issue with mine. Certain people, who get very excited, or loud at first are the ones who get wee wee'd on.... I talk quietly until I get him outside, then we can get EXCITED.. d |
I think she will grow out of it. It's common with small breeds, but it happens more when they have been holding it for a while. Just try to get them outside and try not to talk like you're excited to see them, it makes them even more excited to see you! Then when they pee outside, go nuts and treat them. Bailey did pee on Suz's feet when he met her! My mom's cooker spaniel did it ALL of the time, almost every cocker spaniel I have heard of does it. |
