Car rides are getting so hard I’ve had my baby girl Rylie for 3 weeks now, she’s doing really great the only thing is when I first got her the first 2 times I took her in the car she was really good, didn’t cry or get car sick. Now every single time I take her in the car she cries and goes crazy like she wants to get out, usually someone sits in the back holding her, but yesterday it was just me and her in the car and I put her in her car taxi.. she cried and tried to bark all the way to the mall ( about a 15minute drive) and all the way back. On the way there I tried to give her treats that didn’t work so on the back I didn’t give her anything and she still cried either way. Why is she going crazy in the car and why does she hate it so much and cry, I would love to take her on more car rides but she’s such a cry baby is there anyway to help her? |
Oh poor baby AND poor you! :( I think the only thing that is going to help is repetition and patience. She's still in her adjustment period, and is having a hard time with the vehicle. Do you have a soft blanket in her Taxi that already has her scent on it? Do you bring a favorite toy so she has something to do? Do you keep her where she can easily see you? Do you play music quietly in the car? Do you talk to her soothingly while driving? Do you make sure she goes potty before taking her on rides? Do you give her a treat when you put her in her taxi and then when you take her out and praise praise praise? Time. I think that's all it will take. Try to take her for a spin every day, even if it's just around the block. I am guessing there will come a time when the words "want to go for a ride?" will send her into a joyful frenzy!! Good luck! |
The more car rides she goes on the better she will get. My jewels usually gets sick but on the last car ride she went on she didnt. |
try and keep the window open and let her see out of it. it might help.. lexi is the same way, it just drives me insane and feel so bad for her... |
Loki hated his pet taxi. I even ended up returning it because he would scream if anyone put him in there. The funny thing is that he is crate trained and has never had a problem with his wire crate, only the plastic one. I could deal with crying, but at some point he figured out if he peed in it someone would let him out so if we ever put him in it he'd pee immediately so we'd take him out. He's too smart. Anyway we got him a car seat and he loved it. He still loves the car. It's in the back seat but high enough so he can see out the window. |
Our little Mia is 11 months old, and she ALWAYS gets anxious in the car... I am still trying to figure out the problem. She pants and whines really softly the entire drive... sometimes up to 2 hours (when we go to visit my family). We have tried putting her in her crate, holding her, making it completely comfy...now she likes to go back and forth from me to my husband, looking out the window, checking things out, etc. I can't figure out if she loves car rides or hates them, because when we tell her we are going on a car ride, she gets SO excited, but then when we are in the car she does the panting?????? We have just accepted it and don't let it bother us anymore. It has gotten a little better, and we are hoping eventually she gets used to the car! Good Luck with your baby! Keep us updated! |
