Hair Bows? Okay i have a 3 month old male. I want to pull his hair up in a pony tail but every time i try he freaks out and wont sit still and runs away. i managed to get one in the other day and he had it in all day long and didnt mind it one bit. How do you get your dog to sit still while you are doing that?? |
lol honestly snickers lil barrette only lasted 5min so color me jealous of you! but the only way i could get it in was wait until she was real tired and kinda laying around but not sleeping... good luck to you! |
It just takes doin git everyday and rewarding them for sitting still. I say bow time and she knows to sit still till I get it in, then she gets a treat. |
you can't make the experience tramatic for her or something she will dread. Start by just brushing her hair on her head..... if she won't even let you do that then let her sniff the brush and reward her when she figures out the brush is not so bad. It might take time but it will work if your patient. I can get all of my dogs in ponytails if I wanted....it's just a few that will spend the rest of the day ripping it off...... that I have NO idea about! |
My Stormy used to be like that also. Over the past year or so, I have made his grooming part of our daily ritual. He is now much more tolerant of having his hair brushed and put up in a rubber band. In fact, I believe he expects it now. The other day he came to me with his hair completely down covering his face. He looked at me like, "Hey, will you put my hair up? I can't see a thing!" I learned to make the entire process enjoyable. I brush his hair when he's sleepy. I usually put him in my lap and he just lays there as I slowly brush him. He loves it. |
