When is it oVer???? hello, well, tikki has been a very good girl about housebreaking, but she does have her accidents. She about 80 percent of the time does it where shes supposed to, but has her accidents. I would like to know, by when will she be fully housebroken? thanks! -alexandra and tikki |
never....Yorkies are super stubborn....some exceptions....they are worth it, tho  |
never thats nuts this is why i dont want another yorkie cause thats all i hear about how there impossible they are to train i guess i got lucky with brownie no more yorkies for me :( |
I've been also hearing "never" along with some "a few years." I tend to believe the "around a year" answer the most. As much as my fiance loves Bailey, I know he wouldn't be able to live with a dog who would never be fully potty trained for the next 10-15 years.... So hopefully Bailey's a quick learner |
My Yorkie "Comet" is about 16 weeks and he is housebroken. It requires more work because you have to start becoming more earnest about getting him outside about 15-20 minutes after each meal. Crate training also helps. Try leaving him in his crate for an hour at a time, and then take him directly outside. I think that people treat yorkies like little stuffed toys and forget that they are dogs and are incredibly smart and manipulative. They can do anything that you train them to! Also, If leave food open for him 24/7, then of course he will poop all over 24/7. I feed my Comet 2 square meals a day. Early in the morning and no later that than 4:00 pm. His weight is about 4.75 He goes out atleast 4 times a day, at the same time each day, and spends quiet time in his crate, periodically. He also sleeps in his crate at night. Not in my bed. It works for me. Just remember to be consistent. Good Luck, Lora- Comets Mom |
