Tearing wee pad!! Since Man-Tou is not potty trained (3.5months), so i put both bambi and mantou in an ex-pen. I have the wee pad secured in a pad holder. Everyday i come home, Man tou rips the pad out of the tray, starting from digging and chewing, to pulling the pad out of the holder....i don't know what to do... HELP |
Sorry, I'm not any help. Trixie did that and I stopped using the pads... |
Wish I knew what to do. My little guys do the same thing. I don't need a shredder around here, I can just give it to them and it'll be shredded in no time. ;) |
Hang in there. I know it is frustrating. Cowboy was pad trained when I got him. He did fine until he was about 4mo old. Then he began shredding the pads. So, I quit using them. I started using them again about 2 months ago and he will potty on them only if he has to. He would rather go outside. But, he no longer shreds them. You might try taping the pad to the floor. I did that and put clear deoderant all around the edge of the pad on the tape. Good Luck. |
What does the clear deodorant do? I need help with this also. She pees if she really has to. Otherwise (or even afterwards), the bites and tears them! |
Bitter Apple When my puppies do that I use "Bitter Apple" spray . You should be able to pick it up at any pet store. I spray around the edges. Good Luck. |
I don't know if they don't like the taste or what. But you can use it on things that that chew on and shouldn't. Like baseboards and the bottom of the door.It can be from the dollar store. Mine teethed on the baseboard and I started putting deoderant on it and he quite. Yea, mine would tear up the pads even if he had already used them. Sometimes he would tear up the pad and then pee on top of it. I think maybe it is an age thing. I don't know. |
I use the cloth pee pads that are washable. You can secure them but i doubt if they will be able to shred them. THey have a quilt like stitching. I love them. |
Yes my little Nina just started doing this too! I thought I was a bad mom! So I'm wondering when you guys say you stop using the pads, what is the alternative? Just to train furbabies to go outside instead? Is there any kind of "litter" that you use? |
I use the washable pee pads and they can not chew them up or at least mine haven't. |
washable pee pads? so if they poo and pee on these pads, you would just throw them into the washer??? hmm.. Where can i find these pads? How long do they last? Seems very ideal if they can't be ripped apart easily by these little devils. |
What is a pad holder? Pippin has been trained to potty pads because it is hard to take her outside. She does really well if I remember to change them every morning. Our cat is the one who will paw at them if they are soiled. I guess Putz thinks that they need to be covered up since he takes care of his stuff like that! :) :aimeeyork |
Frustrated!!! How long does it take these little one's to catch on to potty training...I think Chloe' is giggling behind my back now...she'll go outside 50% of the time and come in and go again inside...how much can these little buggers produce!!!! HELPPPP!!! LOL :D |
Our puppy does the same thing, but usually if we're gone for too long. I think it's just because they get frustrated and bored. We tried the ones that stick to the ground and also tried taping them down. She still tore them up. She hasn't been doing it that much lately. I don't think there is really anything we can do :( . It does get frustrating though, Good Luck!!! ;) |
After we had Emma for 2 days she caught on to the idea that she was suppose to go on the pad but it took her about 1-1 1/2 months to get fully pee pad trained. It depends how much you work with them on it. She learned to go on the pad before she went outside because she got scared to go outside in the snow. She does get picky sometimes though and won't go poo on it, she just started to (use to only be outside) and if there were about 5 pee spots ( little diva) hehe. Just keep showing them thats were they go. We used the command "pee pee on pad" and now everytime we say that she'll go if she hasn't already gone on her own. Don't give up, it can be draining!!! |
