Night Barking Yorkie? Gizmo is almost 7 months and he is getting a habit of barking his head off at night ..... he barks and barks... any suggestions for a peaceful night of sleep? I know he is a terrier but???????????? |
I got tired of the night barking too. I have a small portable fan that I turn on at bed time to drown out the outside noises. It sure does work for me. |
Cali is 7 months old and just the past few nights has woken me up with her blood curtling bark 2 times each night. Her bark sounds like she is getting murdered. I hope they grow out of this stage. |
Zoe barks at night but only to get my attention. I don't let him sleep on the bed everynight. |
is he barking at someone? something? is he being crated? confined? my bunjee hates being crated or confined. he'll bark his head off screaming bloody murder. i stopped crating him and he'll either sleep peacefully in my bed, in his open crate next to my bed, or in the kitchen on his bed by himself. he barks a little now when he hears things at the front door, but otherwise, he's totally fine. |
lexi barks at nite too and drives me insane,,, i scream out to her LEXI QUIET. and she dont stop i tell her im going to get the swatter and she stops... |
he is not confined. both of them( gizmo & maddy) either sleep on the bed or in their bed or sofa bed....... he barks at any little noise he hears or at other barking dogs! I tell him to stop and he does and starts up again in a bit!!! |

The only time mine bark at night is when me or someone else comes in our room at night. |
I think the fan (white noise) is a good suggestion. |
My pup (5 months old) starts barking occasionally at night. I have noticed that this always happens after the TV has been turned off. Apparently, it's when it's real quiet that he begins to hear whatever noises are going on outside. A couple of times, I have turned the TV back on -- and he has stopped barking. But who wants their TV on all night!!!!!! Perhaps a radio (near the dog) would be better. Carol Jean |
