biting! my little ollie is teething right now(he is 3 1/2 months) and he won't stop biting. Recently (within the past few days) that is all he does! he grabs my hand and just attacks it! any suggestions to get him to stop?!?!? |
Have a chew toy to replace your hand with... Here is a link to the same question just asked... see socal's response http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30729 |
Cali was the same way at that age until she was about 6 months old then she just stopped. I was ral worried for awhile because she would bite hard and anytime I tried to stop her made her mad and she would lunge at me and bite me harder. She as settled down now and rarely even nips. Good luck it will get beter. |
In used teething rings for babies.... that seemed to help... also , time out when he bites .I used to say nice , nice in a soft voice to Murph and then he learned to lick instead. M&M Yorkies |
The best thing to do is squeal very suddenly it is the same sort of noise that his litter mates would of made if he was to rough with them. Also have a chew handy to distract him with. Sharon,Charley & Melody xx |

My pup did the same thing. He is almost 6 months old now and doesn't bite nearly as much. In fact - very little..... I used to give my pup toys, things to chew on, fed him, covered myself up with a blanket while I watched TV, etc. I did everything I could to keep him from biting me. And all of the things I did -- did help a lot. But he did want to chew on me constantly. It's just a matter of living through this special age they go through. And, believe me, they do get over it. So - hang in there! Carol Jean |
