House training a puppy We have a 10 week year old yorkie and he is doing really well with house training. We have a cat flap and he goes in and out into the yard all day long and does most of his business outside by himself. However we have a puppy pad down near the cat flap and occasionaly he pee's on that, not every day but some days, Should we take the puppy pad away and see what he does? |
Is your puppy 10 weeks old or one year old? You can remove the pad, but do not be surprised if he still makes in that same area only because he is use to the pad being there. Good luck |

How can we get him away from doing it in that area do you think? |
Do as you say, remove that pad, see how that works out first. Give it a month to 6 weeks since you say he doesn't do it all the time. If he continues to pee in the spot where the pad was, take a pad sop up the pee and place it outside where he normally pees. At 10 weeks old and he makes outside consider yourself very lucky that the only pees on the pad every so often. He's still a baby, still learning. Keep us posted when you remove the pad. Lets us know if it is working. |
