How young is too young? Hello, I have a wittle wittle Yorkie called Zoe... she is 8 weeks old. I was wondering when can I start with the basic commands? (Sit, come..etc) Thanks |
Gus knew sit at a very young age. My breeders daughter was already working with them before they went to their forever homes. Your baby may not want to sit for very long, but I started training Gus right off the bat. |
Lily learned to sit in about 30 minutes at 10 weeks old. But that's all we have tried so far. |
As soon as she's settled in, start teaching! They are like sponges when they are little. I'd probably work on name recognition and "come" first, but that's just me! You might look into clicker training - I bet you'd love it! |
I will get on it!!! Ok.. .tonight... first lesson for Zoe... She's such an angel!!!! G. |
awwww...good luck!! I taught my Zoe (he's a boy) how to sit in 2 days at 12 weeks however I'm having a hard time teaching him how to come and stay. oh well. Let us know how the first lesson goes!! |
our little belle can sit, stay and lay down, my husband also taught her to "give me some" he calls it pretty much just high fives but very cute, she is only 3.5 months old, my husband lves to spend time and teach her. she still doesnt like come very much, she is very stubborn |
a new puppy Hello, we just got our first yorkie, Obi, he is 11 weeks, he is great, knows his name and listens to us pretty good, we spend a lot of time with him, we want to start to train him to sit and stay very soon. I love this web site, it's very helpful and i want to thank everybody for all the advices they give us. |
