In the Car or Lights off!!! My little foot has just been with us for only one month. I was very worried that I would stay up endless nights from her whining or potty training. I was also very scared of how she would handle herself when we would be on the road for 6 - 7 hours. Amazingly enough she is wonderful. As soon as the lights go off she dances a couple of times and down she goes, she is asleep before I finish blinking my eyes. She will sleep for 8 hours straight!! I have to actually wake her up and take her potty so she may go to her wee wee pad. If we are in the car she falls asleep for the entire ride. We still wake her up and encourage her to go potty and stretch her little legs. I was just wondering if this is normal? I feel very happy that she is no trouble whatsoever, but is this normal???? :( |
Sounds too good to be true. How old is your little one? Puppies do four things.... they play, they eat, they pee and poop, and they sleep. So, if she is doing all of these, then sounds like all is well. If you hae any real concerns, then a trip to the vet might be in your near future. |
Mine dont do as well as she does in the car but they always went to sleep when the lights went out and slept all night. Just consider yourself lucky. |
I have one here. She is older but she climbs into bed and settles to sleep even before I am in. She can go 8 hours or more without getting up in the night. But if she needs to she wakes me. She can travel in the car or truck like no dog I have ever seen. Pop her in the kennel and if se can see or hear me, she sleeps till I stop to stretch my legs and take her out. She wonderful. Joy |
She is now 4 months old. She weighs 3 pounds and she is very playful and eats very well. We have relentlessly tried the potty training with her and sometimes for a few days things seem to go well and then for days on end she goes back to not knowing anything about potty training. Thank you for your comments and I will keep my fingers crossed that she doesn't change her ways!!! |
Trixie is that way too when she gets in the car. Whether it is daytime or nighttime, when we're in the car, she sleeps. I've tried a few times to wake her up, but she'll just open her eyes and curl back up. So I think it's normal. |
