Peeing everywhere Hi last Sunday I brought my baby 7month old yorkie to a friends house they have a 2 year old 50 lb dog. Their dog is not neutered. My yorkie never pees every where, only on pee pads. He also squats when he pees. For some reason after that time of playing together he came home and pee with his leg up and he also start peeing every where like 20 times when I come home from work. Wiping pee 20 more times after work is not a good fun task. I think he is marking his territory. I don't want to neuter him. I don't want to cause him pain, he is scared of needles and pain.do you think if I get him a girlfriend he will not pee every where anymore ? Is there a way to make him stop other than neutering ? Thanks |
7-9 months is a good age to neuter a small breed. Sometimes once the habit is ingrained, they may be markers forever. But if you catch it soon enough, neutering will likely solve the problem. He is still young. No, a girlfriend will make the problem 1000x worse. Jackson HATES the vet. He is terrified of vets and groomers. It breaks my heart but sometimes things HAVE to be done. I cried when I dropped him off for his dental. :( But he was fine afterwards and healthier because of it. |
When we picked up are male Rescue, he had a reputation of mounting and marking. They gave me a bebby band to use. I had never seen one before, so she explained to use it the minute he did either. I have two Scottish rough collies, male and female, but my Yorkie never marked or mounted ( picture a yorkie mounting a collie🤣 ). I personally would never have an intact dog. I am not a breeder, and the heath benefits outweigh the risks of neutering . Breeders are professionals and my obtaining a dog makes me an owner, not responsible breeder. Just my opinion. But do try the belly band. Gew |
