5 mo old going crazy! My 5 mo old male yorkie is going crazy! He's started scratching at our hardwood floors, chewing up his potty pads, and biting at our feet/ankles hard. He gets plenty of exercise and playtime. We started training classes three weeks ago and these behaviors seem to be getting worse. He's a total sweetheart most of the time but has these spurts where he's nuts. He gets neutered next week so maybe this has something to do with it. Any thoughts? |
Puppies are crazy!! I recommend taping down the edges of the potty pads. That worked for my Roy when he was a pup. When he bites your feet, be calm and tell him no and then dont give him any attention. Instead, give him a toy to chew. It's probably because he's teething so give him lots of chew toys to keep him interested. Be sure to be calm and not yell because that'll only make it worse. This is normal puppy behaviour so don't worry. Train him daily and make sure he's getting daily walks. Be consistant and don't give up because as frustrating as it is, it will take a while. Good luck with your puppy!:) |
From my experience, it is normal for them to behave like that especially for puppies. They are crazy in nature when they are really young and get to behave well when they grow up. |
