Grooming puppy So my first Yorkie had a show coat for years and would actually drift off to sleep as I groomed him...even as a puppy he seemed to love the quiet time and the stroking of the brush. My new Yorkie is polar opposite and attempts to chew brushes, combs, interfering fingers, etc! 😂 He is developing mats in all the predictable spots. I have tried engaging him with a special chew, attempting grooming when he's played out, etc....he is not fooled. Anybody else successfully outsmart a playful and objecting puppy at grooming time?? |
treats? diff brush? |
Have you tried the Madan brush? My two aren't big fans of being brushed but when I'm using the madan brush, they're more accepting and sometimes, enjoy being brushed. Mimimomo sells them. toplinepet.com I actually have one for myself. It really does feel good. LOL |
I always started my babies very early the same day of bringing them home. No pup likes to be poked at or made to stay in one place when they are all go go go. Try grooming when they are sleeping or maybe you could keep him busy with a Kong ball filled with peanut butter or some other tasty treat. |
