Advice please..... Hi I have a 3 year old Yorkie who I love to bits but I am at the end of my tether with him. He barks relentlessly whenever someone comes to the house to the point I cant invite anyone round. He is quite aggressive barking round peoples ankles. He barks at people he does not know and again can be aggressive. He can also be aggressive with other dogs, just barking at them. I feel isolated and this is causing me a great deal of stress. Any advice is gratefully received. |
They have collars that spray a fine citrus mist in their face when they bark.....that may resolve your issue...he will learn he gets a spray of citrus with uncontrolled barking...I think they have to bark in succession two or three times before the collar is activated....did this dog come to you with this issue or is this behavior he has developed living with you? Have you had this dog since he was a puppy, and he just never was corrected for this behavior up until now? It will be much harder to correct now...but it can be done....persistence, patience, consistency...... |
Thank you. We have had him since a puppy and his barking has just escalated. I think I have let him become the pack leader and am now out of my depth. I have just contacted a behaviourist for some advice to try and get this sorted now. Thanks. |
