Washable Pee Pads and do they work My 2 yorkies are trained to go on the pee pads only and do really good at that but the prices of them are always going up where I'm at. I've been reading about the heavy duty washable bed pads used in hospitals and such that can get up to 400 washes and stay absorbent and intact. Has anyone ever tried these and do they work as good or better than the throw away pads? I can get a 12 pack of the washable heavy duty for $50 and that over a years time would save me alot of money. Thought??? |
My experience with the washable pee pads ....... My dogs got all confused....they were trying to make beds out of the washable cloth pee pads......they also tried to hold pee/poop because they thought it was a rug or something....when they could not hold it any longer, they used the cloth pee pads.....then after a week or so, decided they liked my throw rugs better than the plain pee pads!!! So, after I had the entire group totally confused and peeing/pooping on anything found on the floor made of material, ie throw rugs, carpet, bath mats, my dirty clothes pile on wash day in the laundry room, even the throw I keep in my chair on winter evenings to throw across my legs, etc....I had to go back to the pee pads I get from Ryan on line at a great price.....took me months to get everyone peeing BACK on pee pads and off my throw rugs! |
good to know, i was also wondering about this... |
We think they work as do our happy customers over the past 6 years. We suggest leaving them in the same locations so dogs will know the spot. You can also put them in a pee pad holder or inside a crate tray or litter box to further define the area. We have a multi dog household and the only time there are accidents is when the pads are too soaked and they don't want to use a dirty bathroom...our fault, not theirs. I also have my dogs trained to go outside and they will go to the door first. If no one is there, they'll use the pads. |
