poops at night? Helloww. So, my yorkie is kinda pottytrained through the day he doesn't mess at all in the house (so proud of him) but at night he poops a lot! Last night ot was 5 times ( i didn't see it but this morning there was poop on 5 different places) i saw him poop yesterday through the day several times. Why does he poop so much? Should i be worried...coz i kinda am |
My Zoey use to poop a lot when I first got her, I mentioned it to someone and they told me it is sometimes the food they are eating.......too many by products, or something. So I changed her food and the problem was resolved ! I guess you could try changing his food. I hope that helps. |

Less expensive/cheaper foods have lots of fillers and so your dog will poop a lot more. Better foods are more nutrient rich and their skin and coat will be much healthier. |

Gradually change him over. I don't know what is available in your area. Yorkies for the most part are not huge eaters. Imho, you won't go broke feeding a Yorkie vs feeding a great dane. I feed Fromm Gold, but one of the breeders likes Royal Canin. Read labels!!!!! Investigate what the ingredients are. |

I have to agree with the dog food. I was feeding my Cody Natural Balance limited ingredients for 18 months, he was pooping like 6 / 7 times a day. He got tired of that so I made a slow transition to Wellness Core Grain free, Reduced Fat formula, now he poops 2x's a day. Cody is 4 years old. If you have a puppy they need lots of calories cos they have a lot of energy and burn off lots of calories that need to be replaced, Hopefully others can suggest a good brand if you have a very young dog. In owning a yorkie the the least expensive thing is buying the dog, the expense is in maintaining the dog and medical bills. Husky dog food is not a good quality food for any dog. I understand your financial situation. Maybe other members can offer a better blend excluding the Husky dog food. |

Dogs are carnivores......mostly meat, some veggies. Do your research. I free feed which means I leave dry food down 24/7. . . Some people don't agree with that but puppies use a lot of calories and are growing fast so they need to eat often.....some feed 2-3 times a day. What does your vet recommend??? |

He just usually says the way it is, is fine. He says aslong as the dog is healthy. I don't give my puppy more than twice becz he is already quite large (around 4kg). One thing i just remembered, right now I've had them in my room for 4mins and he already pooped. Why? It's the moment i put him here that he poops. I read somewhere that yorkies might do it out of spite? My parents said it's best we keep them in the kitchen, and because school started now i can't spend as much time with him. My mom's yorkie needs to sleep with me too so could it be that he feels left out and wants (more) attention? :/ or maybe he's jealous? Because of the smell i cqn barely breath, no matter how much i clean so I'm up for trying anything now |
If your room smells that bad, just think of all the germs that are still in there. If you have carpet get rid of it and put down laminate or something really washable. Dogs will continue to go there whether you can smell it or not bc they have a nose that can detect odors waaaaaaay better than humans. |
