Separation anxiety My little baby has terrible separation anxiety. We are putting her in a small bathroom at night (or when we have to leave her at home) with a night light, her crate (which she sleeps in during the day for naps with it's door open), blanket and toys. As soon as she thinks I'm putting her in the bathroom, she starts panicking. Our plan it to transition to her crate at night and have it in our bedroom. So for the past week, once per day, I've had her within my sight and closed the crate door for 10-15 minutes. She will very quietly wine the entire time but gets louder as the minutes tick by. By 15 minute mark, she's usually barking. I try to wait until she is quiet and then let her out, give love, potty, etc. For those who are crate people, what tips do you have for me to speed up this process? Our girl is about 14 weeks old and we've had her for three weeks. |
I got a puppy play pen and Olive loves it. She is 12 weeks old this week. I put her crate and special toys in her playpen. I leave the little door open when i dont need her to be in her play pen. Yeterday....I was watching tv and she went into her play pen for her afternoon sleep by herself. |
Is your baby sleeping in the pen at night? |

The play pen is the best investment!! |
Since our bedroom is downstairs and our living area is upstairs, if I were to go that route, I think I'd need two play pens. |
