neutering help potty training Just wondering if after males are neutered does it make them easier to potty train and keeps them from marking in the house. Out two guys are starting to lift their leg. We keep them mostly in our kitchen with gates right now. They have lots of room. Sometimes they will just walk up to a chair leg and pee. We believe in neutering as we have no intentions of getting into any kind of stud service etc. Teddy will be able to be done in a few weeks as he is 20 weeks old.Buddy not untill around Nov. Thanks |

Sorry to say this but only house breaking will break a Yorkie of peeing and or marking inside. Neutring might help but really no guarantees. If they are walking up to a chair leg and peeing you need to keep them either tethered to you so that you can immediately correct the unwanted behaviour and or in a crate. You will also need to use enzymatic cleanser to really get that smell out of where they marked/urinated before. |
Thanks, Guess I should have also said they do go on their pee pads as well but will sometimes walk up to the wall or chair and seems their leg just go's up without them even thinking.Often after they have been asleep. |

Well that is a big clue to go on. Put a lead or leash on them and walk them over to where they should urinate after they awake, play, or are fed. And get a black light and some cleanser and clean up their mistakes - dogs have a great sense of smell and will go back to where they have urinated before. |
Thanks will try it. :-) |
