Puppy waking up really early suddenly... Hi YT I have a beautiful 6month old yorkie named Ruby, for the past few days i have been having issues with her suddenly waking up really early, since we've had her she usually wakes up between 9-9.30am but she now all of a sudden wakes up at 8am and it's getting earlier each day, today it was 7.40am :( She has recently been spayed and is still in the recovery period, of loads of rest, short lead walks etc, she is also toilet trained and sleeps in her crate downstairs in the kitchen. She sleeps all through the night and i do let her out to do her business when she wakes up but when i put her back in her crate she just barks, before she use to be quiet until me and my bf use to wake up, does anyone know what the reason is or is it to do with her recently being spayed? Any advice would be great, i do try and ignore her but my bf has trouble getting back to sleep and gives in lol. |
Early wake up Could she be hungry? Perhaps if you feed her a tiny bit of food before bed she may wake up later? Can't remember when this oldie could sleep until after nine am, LOL! My dog wakes up at 5.30 am if I am lucky and wants food and then a pee immediately. Then when I am fully awake he goes back to sleep! Dogs!! Hope your baby doesn't learn this trick :) |
She has been like this everyday since she has been spayed so maybe it's to do with that, she can't go for long walks and i think she misses that. She use to have her odd days where she would wake up early, i would take her out and then put her back to bed, she would then wake up when i do but now she won't be quiet until i bring her upstairs and be in bed with me ,she likes her crate tho as she sleeps all through the night . |
I think it's a combination of the 2...not so much being spayed but, most importantly, the lack of proper exercise because of it. Once she's all healed up, and you can get back to your proper walks, I'm sure all will return to normal :) |
