Why does Mia do this? Greedy? Ok so every time I head out my house I always give my baby a treat, just the other day I was at a pet store and I found these healthy puppy sticks that im possitive she loves to the fullest. My only question and worry is that lately when I give her one stick I can't get close to her or approach till she's done eating her stick because she growls very scary lol and barks at me if I even try to pet her. How do I go about fixing this behavior? Should I just stay away when I give her this treat? |
I'd take it away any time she growled and use a specific command word (that works for you) when you do. That's unacceptable behavior, in my opinion. |

I would keep the sticks from her for awhile, then reintroduce them but hold the stick while she chews it. If she growls, take it away and try again later. I would not let her have them alone until she stops that behavior. You should be able to take anything away from her with no resistance! You need to let her know that you are the master. |
I agree with the others. Stop the behavior now or she'll be biting you soon |
