Marking Hey Everyone - haven't been on in a bit but things have gotten interesting with my baby boy. He is almost 6 months old - June 4th to be exact - and he is just now started to lift his leg to pee. I just caught him peeing like that on a pilow on the couch. Now he has been pad trained and doing well, but a few days ago I smelled this awful pee smell and I realized he had been going on the carpet in this certain area. This all just started and I am wondering if this is what they call marking. i haven't neutered him yet. Any help, greatly appreciated. He knew he was wrong bc when I looked at him when he was peeing, his ears when back and he ran before I even said anything. |
It probably is marking hes right at the age it can start if you get him neutered he will probably stop |
Planning To I am gong to do it next week or the week after. So nervous about it so been procrastinating. But what to do until then ... |
Make him a little fire hydrant wrrap a pee pad around a 2 liter bottle and put it on a pee pad |
wow What a great idea! Does that work - will it draw him to it? Last night he stood on the couch, raised his leg and peed on a pillow. Unheard of. He never ever pees on the furniture. And now I have been finding other places he is doing it when I am not looking. I am going to try this fire hydrant idea!! I just hope he only goes there and doesn't keep finding other places to go. And I should add, that he got worse with his pee right after I had the carpets steam cleaned. |

interesting I never heard of a belly bands. I just looked it up. So it's like a diaper? But would that ruin his potty training if he just began to go in it? I mean he is trained for the pad, but now this? Also, does it make his belly smell like pee when you take it off? How does it work - very interested. Thanks! |

Do you play with your pup around the couch/carpet area? One thing to do is to get them comfortable by playing with him around that area. That way he is less likely to mark. Also, he wants his play area to smell fresh and not uriney. -Lee Quote:
