Help potty training issues!!!!!!! Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but i have an issue. I have a cute 8 month old Yorkie name Pebbles with a potty training issue. At first, she use to pee on her pee pad and poop on my carpet, but now she decided that she wants to do both pee and poo on my carpet  And now her new thing is to wait until I leave the area to go pee/poop on my carpet in my bedroom or my hallway.:confused: What really confuses me is that her pee pad will be right next to her and she will not do it there.... Any advice anyone on how to solve this issue...??? P.S. It amazes me how long she can hold her bladder, if i'm with her in my bedroom and I'm in my bedroom for 8 hours she will wait until i leave the room to either do her business in my room or the hallway............ Im at lost, I don't know what to do????.... |
Hi and Welcome to YT! If you're using disposable peepads, try using the washables. Keep her confined in the kitchen with her pads after meals until she pee/poops, reward her with praise and a treat, then let her out of the kitchen. |
Thank you Thank you so much.... I will definitely try that technique :-) I am so happy that I found this website |
potty problems I had a Sheltie who took forever to potty train and I eventually conquered the problem by putting her on a short leash and keeping her tied to me. I did this for a couple of days so that she couldn't slink off and do her business. It worked like a charm and no more potty problems! I also took her outside about every 2 hours to go potty and rewarded her with a treat only when she went potty. Good luck! Personally, I would get rid of the pee pads--I think they are confusing and have had more problems with them than without. |
