Desperate for some answers I got my Lincoln when he was 8 weeks, and decided that I wanted to crate train him. Well at the same time I got accepted into nursing school, and along with my life, there went time to strongly invest in house training. I've done the best I could to train him. A lot of times he will pee pee in his crate, but it's rare that he poops in it. Before I know it he's right at 9 months old and not fully trained. Do we have hope and how do I finally get him fully trained? I'd like to use the time I have off to at least get him through the most important part of the training. I'll invest what ever time I have to I just want to stop stepping in his poop lol. |
I have heard those puppy apartments work really well |
Invest in the book How to housebreak your puppy in 7 days. You can get it as a kindle download on Amazon. Do not expect it to work perfectly in 7 days, but it is effective. My 6 year old rescue was housetrained over the summer using the book's methods. The only difference is, I did not put her in a crate because she gets extreme anxiety. I put her in a playpen. I potty trained her and Barney who was 5 months at the time. The only time they have accidents now is when it is raining outside. Diva can't get her feet wet:). I don't think it is too late but you have to be diligent. I have also read about several people who have had success with the puppy apartments. That just wasn't an option for us because of the cage issue. |
Thank you I'm going to do some reading on the material thank you. |
