Do your babies like bath time? So I'm wondering how many yorkie owners have dogs that actually like the bathtub? Mia doesn't really like baths. She hates being wet but she doesn't put up a fight when it's time for bath time. Whenever I fill up the bath she looks at me and I say "you ready for your bath?!" And she runs to the couch. So I then walk over to the couch and she automatically rolls over on her back and asks for a belly rub. I give her a belly rub them scoop her up and into the bath. Sometimes she tries to jump out (has never been successful though). But really, do any dogs out there enjoy baths?! Maybe I need to give treats during bath time, but that sounds messy :-/ |
I don't know that she LOVES it but when it comes to the special squeekie ball and the bath tub she is up for it and gets rowdy with her ball after the rubbing/scrubbing part:D |
Sounds like I need a special toy then! |
My Ruby does that same thing when I call her for bath time or pretty much anything. My pups don't really love bath time but they do like it. Its the part that comes after that they hate. Grooming can be quite the chore, especially with four of them. Make bath time and grooming as fun and enjoyable for you little one as possible. Give him plenty of praise and tiny treats throughout to encourage good behavior. |
Cali's special toy is the happy faces squeekie balls from Topline Pets. We can never be without them. :D |

My Bella doesn't mind a bath and loves the blow dryer. Even when I am drying my hair she loves for me to turn it on her. Chewbacca hides under the bed when he knows it's bath time. They are so different. |
When Dolly see me getting out the shampoo and big bath towels she runs and hides under the bed but when I go to get her she will come out once she is in the tub she doesn't mind the bath at all. She loves to be groomed and loved on |

Mine tolerate it and then run around like they are on fire after after they are out. You think with being bathed once a week they would be used to it by now. |

Both mine don't mind it (don't love it) - they do try to jump out of the sink (can't bend over tub with back arthritis) every once and a while. The part they hate (mostly Molly) is the blow dryer, even on low and warm heat. Molly puts her head in the towel like she'e gone nuts for about 5 minutes after her bath before I blow dry. Neither like the blow dryer on their heads. I praise them a lot and give them some kong cheese while brushing them. Nothing like a good smelling freshly bathed puppy! :D |
I'll say Joel is really good for baths but doesn't like them and the warmer the water is the calmer he is. I just got him to where I can say bath without him running and hiding :p |
My Milo just tolerates his bath. I have a large, deep sink where I bathe him. My faucet also has a large pull-out spray head so it's easy to adjust the water pressure. I make sure to never spray into his eyes, nose or ears & when I do spray any on his face, it's with the gentlest pressure just on the sides of his face & under his chin. I bathe the rest of his face with a baby washcloth. He doesn't mind the grooming at all. He loves the blow dryer. When I blow my hair in the mornings, he will run & stand under me until I use it on him. After the bath, he gets lots of treats & we play fetch which he LOVES! |
Galen is not a fan of the bath. I wash him in the sink. I got a dog spray hose that attaches to the faucet. He tries to get out of it all the time. You would think getting a bath every week he would get used to it lol. He hates the blow dryer to his face area even more. |
