Potty Trained to Not? Hi guys.. My Zoey turned 1 in July. She's 3.5lbs. We don't take her outside at all and instead she is potty trained for pee pads. This has worked great (except poop, we are still working on that- ugh!) except the past few days all the sudden she is peeing just where ever she might be. I'm a little perplexed that she suddenly is ignoring the pee pads. She has had free run of the house when I'm home b/c she always did so good. I locked her in the kitchen this morning (where her pee pad is) and she went and peed elsewhere on the floor.. Any idea what is up or how to fix this ? Thanks! Kelly |
Well since she hasn't done this before I would take her into the Vet and get her checked out. She could have an UTI. Then when you eliminate any health concerns it sounds like you need to put her in a smaller space. The kitchen might be a little big for her. Do you have a Xpen or something you can use a couple days just to re fresh her memory? Another thing- are the pads clean..? I know if the pad has too much pee on it Peanut will pee next to it. When you are home you should start watching her again, when you see her sniffing around like she has to pee take her to the pad and make her go on it. When she does make it a big thing and reward her. You might have to re- train and work with her for a couple days.. just so she gets back in her usual routine that she was in before. Did anything change? Did you have any other pets over? Maybe dog watching or something like that? |
Have you changed pee pads? I had been buying one brand and they changed the way they were manufactured and Scarlett absolutely refused to use them for 2 very long weeks. |
