Clip clip... any advice on how to get Miley to sit still so that I can clip her toenails? She wiggles all over the place making it impossible. She hasn't had them clipped in 2 weeks now (since she came home from the breeders). |
Some people use a towel to wrap around their pup to hold them still. Try working when she is tired and not full of energy. Use treats. Be calm and confident and don't make her more nervous by telling her to sit still over and over. |

I hear you. I still can not get him to stay still to clip his nails or brush his teeth |
I have a wiggler, too! Sometimes I leave the clippers on the coffee table, then when she falls asleep in my lap, I sneak in a couple of clips. I only do a couple at a time because she get so upset! One here & there will get the job done eventually. Another option would be to have it done at the vets. My vet only charges $7 to clip the nails. Good luck!:) |

Oh and yes to everything else that Kristin said also. I like to lay the young pups in between my legs in the crease on their backs and rub their belly's. I will also brush them to get them use to the brush. That is also the perfect time to trim the nail. It is the perfect eyes view and angle. Be sure your pup is in a calm state of mind and that you have lots of light. |
I have fought with jada for three years. My daughter in law would have to clip her nails for me. I bought a Dremel over a year ago to do nails with. Bogie always let me do it. Just recently I tried to use the Dremel on jada right after her bath. I had her wrapped in a towel ...works like a charm. I take one foot at a time out of the towel and she has no choice, she can't wiggle free.. I have been able to use the Dremel on her for over a month now |

With curri, I mashed a little boiled chicken into the bristles just so I could get it into her mouth. From there chicken with the brush turned on and then toothpaste. |
