Cujo mode.. help Pixie has started something in the last 3 months or so she has been doing this......Every time my husband or I get up when we have been sitting...it doesn't matter where she is, she runs and barks at us.. We call it cujo mode bc she goes nuts. I try telling her quiet and no. She will stop the barking but she repeats the same behavior once we get up again. Any advice? |
That is a tough one. Can you think of anything that happened that set off this behavior? Max will do this with the washing machine after it went off balance once. I guess because I jumped up to fix it, he decided he needs to alert me every time it goes into spin mode. |
OMG, I never thought I would ever see anyone else with a dog that started this bizarre behavior!!! My Azrael started the same thing when she was 4 years old and it has gotten worse & she's seven now. She stays on the sofa with me (and the other three) in the evenings and my husband in his recliner. She won't jump off the sofa, never would, but anytime either of us get up to get anything, she barks and run back and forth on the sofa so crazy-like and actually act as though she's looking to bite our feet. Then when were ready for bed, I would get up and then put her on the floor where she would immediately bark and run from his feet to mine like she was going to bite, but she never did. Then it got so bad that she would start biting at the other girls the second the TV was turned off. Now I pick her up and hold on to her till she calms down and take her to her bed every night. She just gets overly excited or in a bite frenzy lather. I have no idea why she's that way. Anytime anyone comes to the door, I have to pick her up and hold her first or she will run right out and bite their feet. I don't know how to stop this weird behavior. She's never been kenneled or left with a sitter. The only time we have ever left that little girl was when she had knee surgery and it was only overnight at a hospital with only doctors who specialize, and have a staff 24/7. Any help would be so appreciated! |
Pixie won't bite us but she runs ahead of us if we are going into the kitchen. I am e wondering if it is a competition thing. Even if the door bell rings She gets aggressive in her barking. I think it is more towards Daisy, like she wants to get to the kitchen bf Daisy. Its like she I can't has to be wherever it is FIRST even if it is us or Daisy. I am lost..... as what to do. Kristin, I can't think of anything that started this. I have thought about this in my sleep as to why she is doing it..ughhhh Yorkiedaze I am glad I am not the only one who has this problem, like your dog Pixie will bite at Daisy so that she won't get to the kitchen bf her. It is just plain CRAZY!! |
