I see long opening posts don't get many responses, lol: This is from 5/29/2011, I adopted her January 30, 2010. So in actuality, it took me 3 years, not overnight! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...walks-idk.html | Oh, no! Not one response!!! I'm sorry. I don't remember seeing that thread at all. YT should be ashamed not one of us responded to you. I feel awful! Must have been one of those days nobody was on or feeling too insightful! Poor doggie! Well, you certainly have hung in there with her. And you know how many would have just given up and either not walked her or just stuffed ear-plugs in their ears and not tried anymore.
I thought she was a new dog but it doesn't matter, you pulled it off. Some dogs just have such fierce fears and almost phobic or a learned-reactionary response so ingrained, it just takes a long time and trying everything to get past it. One way or another, it sounds as if you have made a big breakthrough and that's big in this dog's life. Her life can be an easier one now, although she still may have periods of some fear at times. But now you have some success behind you, you all can move through it, I'm confident. |
