9 month old female Yorkie won't potty train and barks non stop!:( Our 9 month old, tinker bell is out of control! She is the daughter of our first Yorkie Izzy. I've had izzy since about 8 weeks. She has been an amazing dog, rarely barks and is so sweet and calm etc. we bred Izzy, she did amazing, had 4 healthy pups and we kept the runt, Tink. Tink is crazy! Lol. She goes outside and barks at everything to the point neighbors are complaining and then comes inside and uses our carpet as her restroom! All the pups were potty pad trained immediately! They could barely walk and would go use the potty pad and go back to bed. But Tink has just decided to make her own rules and is destroying our carpet in our new house and upsetting all of our neighbors. What advice can anyone give to help me!? Bark collar, puppy classes? We kept her to breed her but she won't be ready for a long time, since her maturity level is so low! Thanks for any advice on this matter! |
Hi and Welcome to YT! JMHO, this sounds like maybe a bonding issue. Outside she is too distracted and doesn't think about going potty till she gets back inside. Let her back in then take her right back out (before she goes in the house)... timing issue...use a clock if needed. Stop comparing her to the other pups. Find good things that are unique to her and celebrate them, make her feel special. Will check back for updates... |
