We are having a very similar issue here with our little guy. He will be 2 this december and he is a handful right now. Out of no where he has turned into the dog my 4 year old daughter is scared of. He growls at us over his food, over snacks, over coming to close to him sometimes. I am a at loss of what to do. He is very mean right now. He has bitten us a couple of times but not my daughter yet. I am not sure what we need to do. He knows he is not the pack leader and I am. So I am not sure what is going on. And his barking at everything and everyone is out of control! |
I agree you have lots of homework to do.... It wont be easy but I'm sure your little guy is worth it. In my opinion establishing the pack leader role is very important when it comes to aggression issues. I never had a feeding issue so I really hope that your trainer can give you the tools needed to help you and your pup before thing take a turn for the worse. (not sure that the bitting isn't already the worse) |
well its been a few days and today he did not growl when i approached him..from the training i now realize my baby is insecure and lacks confidence..i don't feel that its about an alpha role as many have mentioned.. he does know that im the leader but i have broken the trust because ive hit him in the nose, growled and yelled due to the incorrect advice that i received from people..the only way you can get your dog to do what you want is by positive training and not by intimidation or force.. |
