Time out? My dog does not like to be brushed after a bath in spite of much coaxing with sweet words and favorite treats etc etc. He just runs away and hides. Today I tried another approach, Time Out in the kitchen for 10 mins - that he does not like and wails about! When I went in to get him he was so quiet and let me pick him up and brush him with no problem. Hooray! Do others find this TO works when all else fails??? Or perhaps I am just a slow learner and this is obvious? Also do any other dogs here not like being brushed after bathing? Thank you. |
Mine run as soon as the b word is said or they hear the water... Brushing after is fine except for feet and only after they dried a bit. Although they all seem to enjoy brushing as much as bathing. |
Georgie doesn't like anything that involves bathing lol. I have had to put Georgie in a chair for time out. He actually sits for a minute but then is over it. |
feet What is this thing with dogs' paws/feet? They do seem very sensitive in that area? |
I had that problem with Cali and her feet for a while then started giving her foot messages when I brush and petted her and now she loves it - sometimes even falls asleep during her foot message :D |
Feet Thank you, perhaps I will try the foot massage. What we do for our masters, the fur babes, LOL! |
I have an Oster Grooming Set in a Box, and used to "try" to groom my guys myself. I have since given up on that :( and there's been some months since I groomed them, taking them to a Pro now. However, when I do get the notion to give them a Brushing, they still look at me very suspiciously when I get the Box out, but, calm down when they see it's just the Brush in my hand. The do NOT like the Clippers. :thumbdown |
